Pinion
gears and clutching mechanism from the outside (l) and wheelside(r). The forward
clutch manages both "hill-climbing" gears. The rear clutch engages
the "level road" gear when pushed backward. A three-piece grease cover
was positioned over this to keep the dirt out and lubricate the mechanism. It
was found intact later (see gear covers). |
